Crawlspace Repairs
Crawl spaces are a nasty, dirty place to be. Nobody would want to live down there, but believe it or not, half of the air in your home comes from that crawl space.
There is a lot of building science that goes into designing a Crawlspace system that works. There are primarily two different ways we use to design a crawlspace system that eliminates mold and or keeps it out of your house.
We will either design a vented system or a non-vented system.
With a vented system, we use closed-cell spray foam on the subfloor, then install a high-performance liner as a vapor barrier and leave the foundation vents open. This system only works because of the performance of closed-cell foam; standard fiberglass batts just do not work in a crawl space. The Spray Foam bonds to the subfloor, providing superior insulation, but also sealing it up so that mold spores, moisture, and other undesirable things do not penetrate the conditioned space. This system works well when there is no ductwork or HVAC system in the crawlspace.
We use a non-vented system whenever the crawlspace has extremely high moisture issues or Ductwork is located there. The non-vented system is a process called Crawlspace Encapsulation. The key in a non-vented system is to keep the bulk water out and the humidity below 60%. To encapsulate a crawlspace, our crew uses trenching and sump pumps to control bulk water. Then we use a very high quality liner installed with waterproofing, tape, and sealant almost like installing a swimming pool liner over the floor and up the wall of your Crawlspace. Then add a Dehumidifier, circulation fans and seal off all the foundation vents. It's almost like creating a conditioned basement in your crawl space. When we're done, it will literally be a good place to store photo albums. The non-vented system with dehumidified air eliminates the mold from your Crawlspace and keeps it from coming back.
Say Goodbye to Damp, Musty Crawl Spaces
If your home has a damp, musty odor or you've noticed moisture under your floors, your crawl space could be to blame. These spaces are often overlooked, but they play a critical role in your home's comfort and efficiency. At Custom Insulation & Supply Inc, we specialize in transforming neglected crawl spaces into sealed, protected environments that contribute to healthier air and better energy performance.
Our encapsulation services are designed to target the root causes of crawl space issues, including humidity, poor airflow, and insufficient insulation.

How Crawl Space Conditions Affect Your Entire Home
Many homeowners are surprised to learn just how much a crawl space can impact indoor comfort. A damp or unsealed crawl space can allow mold spores, allergens, and humid air to infiltrate your living areas. This not only affects your health but also increases your energy costs as your HVAC system works harder to maintain a stable temperature.
Professional crawl space encapsulation in Benton, AR addresses these problems head-on by isolating your home from the ground below, improving indoor air quality, and reducing moisture-related risks throughout your entire home.
Our Step-by-Step Approach to Sealing Your Crawl Space
At Custom Insulation & Supply Inc, we follow a proven step-by-step approach that ensures your crawl space is thoroughly protected. We begin with a full inspection to assess any existing moisture, insulation gaps, or pest issues. Next, we install high-quality vapor barriers and seal all vents and penetrations to lock out external air.
Depending on your home’s needs, we may add rigid foam board insulation, apply spray foam to rim joists, and install a dehumidifier for ongoing moisture control. Our goal is to create a dry, insulated environment that supports your home’s efficiency from the ground up.
Combining Moisture Control With Energy Efficiency
Encapsulation does more than just keep your crawl space dry—it can also lead to significant energy savings. By sealing air leaks and insulating the perimeter, your HVAC system no longer has to work as hard to compensate for outside temperature swings. That means more stable indoor temperatures, lower utility bills, and less strain on your equipment over time.
Our clients who invest in crawl space encapsulation in Benton, AR often notice immediate differences in both comfort and monthly energy costs, making it a smart investment for long-term value.
Helping Homeowners Avoid Costly Structural Repairs
Excessive moisture doesn’t just damage air quality—it can also compromise your home’s structural integrity. Over time, water vapor can lead to wood rot, foundation cracks, and warping of support beams. These issues are not only expensive to fix but also potentially dangerous if ignored.
Custom Insulation & Supply Inc helps homeowners take a proactive step toward protection. With timely crawl space encapsulation in Benton, AR, you can prevent these major problems before they start and extend the life of your home’s most essential components.
Why Crawl Spaces Attract Pests and How We Stop Them
Crawl spaces often create the perfect environment for pests—dark, damp, and undisturbed. Rodents, insects, and other unwanted visitors are drawn to these spaces, especially when moisture is present. At Custom Insulation & Supply Inc, we seal entry points, install moisture barriers, and control humidity to make your crawl space unwelcoming to pests. With proper crawl space encapsulation in Benton, AR, you’ll protect your home from infestations year-round.

Crawl space encapsulation can improve energy efficiency, reduce moisture issues, prevent pest infestations, and improve indoor air quality.
